6 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari after a conference | Short trips to Uganda
First day: Kampala-Jinja
Our Kampala-Jinja safari begins with a briefing at the pickup place in Kampala or Entebbe. You travel to eastern Uganda with our professional driver guide via Mabira forest and halt at Namawojjolo for roadside barbecued meat, chicken, plantain, and beverages. Kampala to Jinja is approximately two hours without traffic. We visit Itanda Falls, take a boat tour, go bungee jumping, white water rafting, and sport fish in Jinja. After lunch and evening in Jinja, we stay at the hotel to prepare for day 2.
Jinja–Lake Mburo National Park, Day 2
After breakfast, we left Jinja, traveled through Kampala, and arrived at Lake Mburo National Park in Western Uganda in time for lunch after pausing at the Equator monument to snap pictures. After lunch, you may take 2-hour boat excursions on the lake, go on a game drive to explore the park’s animals, or go bird watching before supper and stay at the park.
Day 3: Lake Mburo-Bwindi
After breakfast, you travel into the national park to see elands, antelopes, zebras, and leopards. We have lunch in Mbarara before going on a gorilla hike in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Day 4
After breakfast at the headquarters, professional guides inform travelers about gorilla trekking guidelines. This is the safari’s highlight. Groups of eight will journey with a gorilla family for a day. Each group studies, feeds, and photographs the gorillas for an hour after finding the family. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers bird viewing, monkey treks, Batwa trails, and cultural tours.
Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Day 5.
On day five, we drove four hours from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where the climbing lions live in Ishasha. Queen Elizabeth is one of Uganda’s most frequented parks, offering bird viewing with over 615 species and game drives with antelopes, lions, crocodiles, kudus, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, and hippos.
Day 6: Kampala/Entebbe departure
After breakfast and a morning wildlife drive around Queen Elizabeth, the safari ends in Kampala or Entebbe. If the conference is over, the driver guide will transport you to the airport for departure, or to your choice of lodging to finish the vacation.
