This 3-day Murchison Falls safari takes you to the largest park in Uganda for a Big Five safaris. The Park is classified with savannah grassland and the Victoria Nile that separates the park into two, the northern and southern banks. The park is most popular for having the most powerful waterfall known as “Murchison Falls” on earth with an array of birds and wildlife animals including the big fives and ziwa rhinos. On this three-day safari to Murchison Falls, you will have a chance to enjoy game drives, a boat cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls, and a visit to the top of the falls.

Murchison Falls is located in the Northwestern part of the country occupying 3840sq.kms of land area. Established in 1926 as a Game Reserve, Murchison Falls National Park is divided by Victoria Nile and offers excellent game drives and boat rides which will be part of this short wildlife safari. The extensive Murchison Falls National Park is home to 451 bird species including dwarf kingfishers, shoebill storks, and goliath herons; big game (buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants), giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and primates and many other wildlife animals

The world’s most powerful waterfall “Murchison Falls is also right at the heart of Murchison Falls National Park and is where it takes its name from. Murchison Falls can be witnessed forcing itself into an 8 narrow gorge creating a thunderous sound and a permanent rainbow as it flows towards L. Albert.

Early morning after breakfast, you will meet with the guide from Katland Safaris to embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a stop en route at Zziwa Rhinos Sanctuary to track the Rhinos and thereafter have lunch. You will then connect to Murchison Falls National Park with an amazing drive to the top of the falls and then proceed to the lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Early in the morning After breakfast, your guide will be waiting for you so you can start your morning game drive to look for the early grazers, you may have the opportunity to see many animals such as buffalos, Elephants, warthogs, and many more, depending on the nature of the day, you may be chanced to spot some of the big cuts like lions.

After that thrilling game drive, you will take a short rest at the lodge as you prepare for the late afternoon boat ride/cruise to the bottom of the Murchison Falls. You will meet your guide again, who will transfer you to the peer for your late afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the Nile where the Victoria Nile squeezes itself through a narrow gap. While on the boat cruise, you will encounter many birds, elephants, hippos, crocodiles on their island and so much more on the banks of the river Nile.
