It is possible to go gorilla trekking at Mgahinga. Mgahinga National Park is well known as a gorilla trekking destination. Just one habituated gorilla family, the Nyakagezi, lives there. This family of Nyakagezi gorillas has apparently made its home in Uganda for the last two years, allowing them to be hiked from that location instead of Rwanda.

Mgahinga Sedan Chairs’ prices do not include
You can help save mountain gorillas by visiting Mgahinga and purchasing a sedan chair. The price of the chair also covers the cost of the people or porters who will transport you to the gorillas and back to the park headquarters, where you will receive a certificate for your gorilla trekking experience.
The price does not include a gorilla permit, which allows you to spend up to four hours with mountain gorillas or a one-hour trip with them. To see mountain gorillas, one must have one of these gorilla licenses. You won’t be able to view gorillas unless you have a permit. You must reserve, book, and get your gorilla permit for Mgahinga National Park before you may rent Mgahinga sedan chairs.
Your lodging is not included in the price of the Mgahinga Sedan chairs. Spend a minimum of two nights at Mgahinga or the nearby town of Kisoro. There aren’t many lodges in Mgahinga National Park, so we had to make reservations in advance.
You should reserve in advance if you want to spend your nights at the closest lodge, Gahinga Lodge, since it is a luxury or high-end hotel. The Kisoro Travellers Inn in Kisoro town is the greatest inexpensive alternative in the event that this lodge is full. The travel to Mgahinga National Park is around 45 minutes from here.
Transportation to and from Mgahinga National Park is not included in the price of the Mgahinga Sedan seats. From Entebbe, you may take a route that leads to Kisoro and the park, or you can leave Kigali and go to Chanika board post to reach Mgahinga National Park.
The Kigali road is preferable since it cuts down on the length of time spent driving on the Entebbe–Kisoro–Mgahinga route. Charter and scheduled aircraft both land at Kisoro airport, so those who want to fly in may be taken to their lodge from there.

Allotting sufficient time is necessary to organize a gorilla trekking vacation for those with special requirements or who are old. If you want to be sure that your trip is smooth and problem-free, you need to plan ahead.
