The hills of Kampala | Kampala city walking safaris.

The first hill is Kampala hill: This is the seat of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and the home of the Uganda national mosque, also known as the Gaddafi Mosque. This is the hill where Fort Lugard was located, the first seat of the British colonial authorities in Uganda.

The second hill is Mengo, the former capital of the Buganda kingdom; the third hill is Kibuli hill, the home of Kibuli Mosque:

The fourth is Namirembe hill, the home of the Anglican church, the fifth hill is Lubaga hill, the home of the white catholic fathers, and the home of the Rubaga catholic cathedral. The sixth hill is Nsambya hill, the site of the former cathedral of St. Peter’s Nsambya, and was previously allocated to the British catholic hill mission during the signing of the Uganda Agreement in 1900

The seventh hill is the Nakasero hill, whose summit was Fort Nakasero, a British military installation, but after relocating from Fort Lugard in Old Kampala. The site was also the site of the European hospital. The hill is near the official residence of the president of Uganda.
