Susa Gorilla Family: Guide to Rwanda’s Largest Gorilla Group
Susa Gorilla Family: Guide to trekking Rwanda’s Largest Gorilla Group while on a gorilla trekking Trip In Rwanda.
The Suasa Gorilla family is one of the most famous gorilla families in Rwanda. It’s special and famous for several reasons. One, it derives its name from the famous Susa River, which runs through the area that the Susa gorilla family calls a safe home.
The second reason the Susa gorilla family is famous is that it’s this particular gorilla family that the famous primatologist Dian Fossey researched while she was at Karisoke Research Center in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda around 1985:
The Susa gorilla family is one of the hardest gorilla families to track in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. It’s a hard group to track simply because at most times these gorillas climb very high altitudes that only guests with great physical ability can be able to take on.
For guests who are interested in a more adventurous gorilla adventure, the Susa gorilla family is the one they should definitely opt for. Locating this family might be a challenge, but the rangers will help you simplify the process by taking the lead in locating the gorillas and constantly communicating with other rangers in the jungle to give them the exact direction to see the mountain gorillas.
The other thing that makes the Susa gorilla family special is the fact that among all other families, the Susa family group has the highest number of individuals, totaling about 42 gorilla individuals.
But because of constant fighting for dominance by the Silverbarks, the group has had separations and now has 28 members, with three Silverbarks
The other special thing about this group is the fact that among all gorilla families in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, it’s one with twins.
If you are an Adventoruous guest and lover of twins, then the Susa gorilla family must be the best choice for your gorilla trekking Adventure in Rwanda.
