Unlike Mwirima, who preferred to remain put, Rwansigazi was always up for an adventure. Rushegura was later established by Rwansigazi. There are now 17 members of this family, including the Silverback Makara as head. There are 9 adults, 5 babies, and 3 juveniles. Kinship of the Rushegura Gorillas
Separated from the Habinyanja gorilla family, this subgroup became accessible for monitoring around the year 3002.
