Nkuringo and the Christmas party are two of the habituated gorilla groups in the park. Mishaya, Nshogi, Busingye, bweza, and Kahungye are the members of Rushaga. Kuaguriri, oruzogo, and bitukura are the members of Ruhija. Mubare, Habinyanja, and Rushegura are the members of Buhoma. A total of eleven habituated gorilla groups inhabit the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

RUHIJA SECTOR INFORMATION

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is to the east of Ruhija.The Oruzogo, Bitukura, and Kyaguriro families are the ones that inhabit this place. I have touched on these gorilla families briefly;

Kyaguriro Family; this particular family was habituated in 1999 for the sake of study. Eventually, it became accessible for trekking, much as other gorilla families. Two silverbacks and fifteen mountain gorillas make up this family.

A new gorilla family, the Mukiza, has just arrived in the Ruhija Forest. More than ten mountain gorillas and one silverback make up the troop.

The Bitukura people were so called because they were first seen near a river. Two silverbacks are part of this family of fourteen.

There has been less activity in this area compared to others. More ecotourism experiences are a benefit to this industry. Driving directions.

Fortunately, there is an easier and quicker way to reach the park: by plane.

Scheduled and charter flights to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are offered daily by Aero Link, a domestic carrier. Although there is no direct aircraft to Ruhjia, our expert guide will pick you up in Kihihi and drop you off to your resort. It takes around two hours to travel from Kihihi to a lodge that is close by. It is mandatory for all passengers to check in at least 90 minutes prior to their flight’s scheduled departure time.

Additionally, keep in mind that the Aero Link luggage limit is 15 kilos per person, with an additional penalty of 3 USD per kilogram for excess baggage. For customers with specific time and route needs, private charters are also an option.
