How to reschedule gorilla habituation permits
The opportunity to book a gorilla habituation experience
You must have made your original reservation with a specific tour operator, such as Katland Safaris, in order to reschedule your gorilla habituation experience permits. When you contact Katland Safaris to inquire about gorilla habituation experience permits, they will ask for the date you would like to spend four hours with mountain gorillas.
Based on this information, they will determine whether permits are available and get back to you with the details. We will record the dates on the UWA system and send you an invoice for them if we reach an agreement.
Payment may be made by credit card or bank transfer. Please provide us evidence of payment as soon as possible so that we may utilize our credit to get your gorilla habituation permit. The permits are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The reason for this is because other persons or firms would have already obtained the licenses if we were still in the process of waiting for the funds to appear on our account, which usually takes 2-3 days. Booking and confirmation of your permit are necessary to ensure your gorilla habituation experience safari.
Guidelines for rescheduling permits for gorilla habituation
You have the option to postpone your gorilla habituation permit to a another date for several reasons. Possible causes include illness or a work-related program modification. Please send us an email explaining the reason for the date change so that we may help you in rescheduling your gorilla habituation permit.
The next step is to inform the Uganda Wildlife Authority so that they may reschedule the event. You will be able to move forward with your revised dates after they are approved and placed into the system. When may gorilla habituation sessions be rescheduled?
Rescheduling gorilla habituation experience permits is limited to one per customer. You are allowed to transfer your four-hour gorilla hike permit once by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. You will be required to return the permit if you change your mind after making the change and then decide you can’t make it. The only choice you have is to sell it again.
If for any reason you are unable to trek after purchasing your permit from Katland Safaris, we will do our best to resell it to other tour operators. If we are successful, we will reimburse you for your purchase. Nobody can promise anybody will purchase your gorilla permit.
Please note that rescheduling gorilla habituation permits must be done at least two weeks before to the intended trip date. Any services not listed above may be subject to additional fees or even rejected. Please let Katland Safaris know at least two weeks in advance of your trip if you would want to modify the date and we will help you reschedule your gorilla permit.
Also, if you reschedule your gorilla permit at least two weeks before your expedition, there will be no price. If you need to change the date of printed licenses and issued cards, you may really ask for a price. Currently, UWA charges $20 for this service. Price of Bwindi Impeachment Gorilla Habituation Permits
Foreign non-residents must pay a hefty $1500, foreign residents $1000, and East African nationals 750,000 Shillings for a gorilla habituation experience permit. The four-hour gorilla encounter, along with ranger and tourist police protection, is all part of the ticket purchase.
Conservation charge, educational presentation, and guided forest walk with rangers and gorilla habituation specialists; receipt of a certificate upon completion of the excursion. It is not possible to use this permit for transportation to or from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, nor for lodging inside the park.
