USD800 gorilla permits to AUTO Members
The Uganda Wildlife Authority continues to charge AUTO members in Uganda more than USD 800 for gorilla permits. Notably, the Uganda Wildlife Authority used to provide cheap gorilla permits during the off-season months of April, May, and November.
However, this promotion was axed for 2024 because to changes in rates in both Rwanda and Uganda. The standard gorilla permit fee in Uganda is USD800, however each permit would cost USD800.00. Tourists might save USD700.00 on their gorilla permit if they planned to hike with mountain gorillas in April, May, or November.

In 2024, as a consequence of the ongoing cooperative cooperation between the Uganda Wildlife Authority and AUTO (Association of Uganda Tour Operators), the offer of USD800 for gorilla permits to AUTO members was introduced.
As a token of their appreciation and support, the Uganda Wildlife Authority has chosen to provide this to members of the Association of Uganda Tour Operators (AUTO), who are the top purchasers of gorilla permits from the UWA.
At least three times a year, AUTO members may apply for gorilla licenses from the Uganda Wildlife Authority, which cost USD 800 each. In a certain time frame, for example three months, the amount of gorilla permits granted to AUTO is based on the overall sales.
From this, UWA calculates the percentage of licenses that will be made available to AUTO members. The members are notified by UWA and AUTO about the available permits after the part is selected.
For what reasons are gorilla permits to AUTO worth USD 800?

In response to correspondence from UWA, the Association of Tour Operators informs its members via email of the availability of these licenses. Because there are so many participants, each business may choose any day and location for its two gorilla permits.
Everyone in AUTO is responsible for requesting and awaiting these permissions. When everyone is good to go, AUTO will collect their dues, which will be sent to UWA.
