One hour’s drive from Entebbe town, the Mabamba wetland is accessible by boat on lake Victoria or by car.
Little boats or canoes available at Mabamba will enable you to navigate till you reach the shoebill. This also holds true for Makanaga, where one must travel along Entebbe Masaka route at least two hours.
Other shoebill filming sites in Uganda are supervised and monitored by Uganda Wildlife Authority including Murchison Falls National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. Along with marshes of Lake Mburo National Park, the delta area of Murchison Falls National Park has many shoebills.
