Spend some quality time in the delta; before you cruise the Nile back to the Paraa jetty, you could see some elephants, Nile crocodiles, and other fascinating wildlife in the vicinity.

Subject to minimal numbers, you may plan a Nile delta tour with “breakfast on board,” served in the mornings. Starting on the south bank at Paraa, the delta cruise departing the jetty sets out at 07.00 am and 2:00 pm. Boat Cruise To Murchison Falls’ Bottom

The boat journey to the bottom of Murchison Falls, the most forceful waterfalls in the world, is the most popular pastime in the park. Starting from the Paraa jetty, the boat avoids a show of spectacular wildlife along the Victoria Nile river banks and docks at Baker’s rock for those wishing to trek the Murchison Falls.

Visitors at the top of Murchison Falls, Fajao viewpoint, may see the Nile rip out about 300 cubic meters per second (11,000 ft) over a narrow gouge shorter than 10 meters (33 ft), generating 50 meter broad splashes and a constant rainbow.

Then the thundering water rushes down the falls back into the Nile path to gently go on down the Victoria Nile. Visitors may stop at the base to see this amazing display with hippo pods nearby or climb the cliff to see the show from above.

How much the boat cruise costs?

Daily the boat launch by UWA departs the jetty at 0900 and 1400. Each participant pays $30; refreshments for all the people on board are reasonably priced. For $32 per person, Wild Frontiers has an option with better boats, subject to minimum numbers on board.

From the North bank at Paraa, we can also arrange private pickups and drop-offs by boat from the lodge spots along the southern banks of the Victoria Nile. Departing at 1500 every afternoon, guests may choose a unique waterfall sundowner boat ride with beverages and food. Subject on trip length, boat capacity, and type, a private boat tour is $325 per boat.

When should one go on the boat cruise?

The dry season, December through to February and June through September is the ideal time to visit Murchison Falls National Park and arrange a Nile delta boat ride or boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.

The surge of visitors during the dry season might make booking difficult, however. During the dry season, Murchison Falls Safaris and Uganda generally are at their busiest seasons. To prevent disappointments, we therefore encourage you to reserve early.

Given the high water levels and rapid Nile water flow, the wet seasons on the Nile cruise might be perilous. Not a very suitable moment for Nile cruise.

What More After The Boat Cruise?

Along with a wildlife drive safari in the Buligi portion of the park, your trip to Murchison Falls may include the Delta boat tour and boat launch to the falls bottom. To excite your morning or afternoon game drive, the Buligi region has a great abundance of wild creatures.

Cruise down to the delta, go back to Paraa, and have a game drive over the Buligi habitat loaded with species. Alternatively, climb up for the look down into the deafening abyss while leaving your boat at the gorge beneath the falls. Either by car or hiking back down for another boat back to Paraa.

One of the remotest national parks in Uganda, Murchison falls easily paired with a tour further northeast into Kidepo Valley National Park for another savannah plains adventure or down south to join the southwestern Uganda safari circuit via Kibale National Park.
