Detailed Itinerary: 7‑Day Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Safari (Gorilla trek, game drives)

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Your Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari begins with arrival at Entebbe International Airport. After meeting your professional safari guide, you depart northward toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most dramatic protected area. The journey introduces you to Uganda’s changing landscapes, from urban centers to open countryside.

Upon arrival, you check in at your lodge near the park and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by nature in preparation for the days ahead.

Day 2: Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

This day combines classic wildlife viewing with one of Uganda’s most iconic water experiences. An early morning game drive explores the park’s northern savannah, where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, and various antelope species.

In the afternoon, you enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile River toward the base of Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, hippos, crocodiles, and water birds are commonly seen, while the powerful falls provide a dramatic highlight to the day.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you begin the journey southwest to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive passes through scenic countryside, rural communities, and changing ecosystems that showcase Uganda’s diversity.

Arriving in Queen Elizabeth National Park later in the day, you settle into your lodge with views of the savannah or crater lakes, enjoying a peaceful evening in preparation for further wildlife exploration.

Day 4: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Queen Elizabeth National Park is renowned for its rich wildlife diversity and dramatic landscapes. A morning game drive explores the Kasenyi plains, a prime area for spotting lions, elephants, buffaloes, and large herds of Uganda kob.

In the afternoon, you take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise offers exceptional close-range views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and an impressive variety of birdlife.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today’s journey takes you from open savannah into dense montane forest. You depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and travel south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

The drive is scenic and culturally enriching, passing through tea plantations, rolling hills, and traditional villages before arriving at your lodge near the forest.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Gorilla trekking is the highlight of this Uganda safari experience. After an early morning briefing by park rangers, you enter Bwindi Forest and trek through thick vegetation in search of a habituated gorilla family.

Once located, you spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat, witnessing their social interactions and behaviors at close range. After the trek, you return to the lodge for rest and reflection on this extraordinary encounter.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe and Departure

The final day marks the conclusion of your 7-Day Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Safari. After breakfast, you begin the return journey to Entebbe, enjoying Uganda’s countryside for the last time. Depending on your flight schedule, you proceed directly to Entebbe International Airport for departure.
