Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your safari begins with arrival at Entebbe or Kampala, followed by a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. The route takes you through rolling hills, rural communities, and lush farmland. Upon arrival at your lodge near the forest, you settle in, enjoy dinner, and receive a briefing on the gorilla trekking adventure planned for the following day. The evening is spent relaxing amid the sounds and sights of the forest.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Day two is the highlight of the safari: mountain gorilla trekking. After an early breakfast, you report to the park headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You then trek through dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is extraordinary. Spending one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat, watching them feed, play, and interact socially, is an unforgettable wildlife encounter. After trekking, you return to the lodge for rest and dinner.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you depart Bwindi and travel north toward Murchison Falls National Park. The journey is long but scenic, passing through varied landscapes including savannah plains, highlands, and rural villages. Upon arrival, you check in at your lodge and relax after the journey. Depending on your arrival time, an optional evening game drive allows you to glimpse some of the park’s abundant wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.
Day 4: Murchison Falls Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise
Day four is dedicated to exploring the rich wildlife and dramatic scenery of Murchison Falls National Park. You start with an early morning game drive through the northern savannah, spotting elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffaloes across the open plains. In the afternoon, you embark on a Nile boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, witnessing the Nile forcefully plunging through a narrow gorge. Along the riverbanks, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species provide exceptional photographic opportunities. The day concludes with an evening return to your lodge.
Day 5: Return to Entebbe and Departure
