Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park – Top of the Falls
The safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, driving northwest through Uganda’s countryside toward Murchison Falls National Park. The route passes through rural towns, forested areas, and open farmlands, offering insight into Uganda’s everyday life.
On arrival at the park, you proceed to the Top of the Falls, where the Nile River is forced through a narrow rocky gorge before plunging violently into the river below. This dramatic viewpoint offers excellent photography opportunities and a powerful introduction to the park’s natural beauty. After the visit, you transfer to your lodge, check in, and enjoy lunch. The afternoon is spent at leisure, allowing time to relax and enjoy the surrounding wilderness before dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Morning Game Drive – Nile Boat Cruise – Return
The second day begins with an early morning game drive in the northern sector of the park, the prime area for wildlife viewing. You search for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and lions, with possible sightings of leopards in the cool morning hours.
Later in the morning, you embark on a boat safari along the Nile River. The cruise provides close encounters with large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and an impressive variety of birdlife along the riverbanks. The boat gradually approaches the base of Murchison Falls, offering a unique and memorable perspective of the falls from below.
