Detailed Itinerary: 2 Day safari to lake Mburo national game park

Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Game Park – Evening Game Drive

The safari starts early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. You travel southwest through central Uganda, passing rural villages, long-horned Ankole cattle farms, and open countryside. A stop at the Equator allows time for photographs and a short break before continuing to Lake Mburo National Game Park.

On arrival at the park, you check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch while overlooking the surrounding savannah and acacia woodland. Later in the afternoon, you head out for an evening game drive. This drive focuses on plains wildlife such as zebras, impalas, topi, eland, buffalo, and giraffes, with opportunities to spot leopards and hyenas as temperatures cool. The changing light of sunset provides excellent wildlife viewing and photography before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Game Park – Morning Walking Safari – Return to Kampala or Entebbe

The second day begins with an early morning walking safari, accompanied by an armed ranger guide. Walking through the park allows close encounters with zebras, impalas, warthogs, and giraffes while learning about animal tracks, birdlife, and the park’s ecosystem. This experience offers a more intimate and educational perspective than a vehicle-based safari.

After the walking safari, you return to the lodge for breakfast. You then begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way. Arrival is in the afternoon, bringing the short but rewarding Lake Mburo safari to a close.
