Detailed Itinerary: 2‑Day Lake Mburo Safari (Game drives + boat ride)

Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

The safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, driving southwest through central Uganda’s countryside. The journey passes traditional homesteads, Ankole cattle grazing areas, and open farmlands, with a brief stop at the Equator for photography and refreshments.

On arrival at Lake Mburo National Park, you check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch with views of the surrounding savannah and woodland. In the afternoon, you head out for a game drive through the park’s open plains and acacia forests. Wildlife commonly seen includes zebras, impalas, eland, topi, buffalo, and giraffes, with chances of spotting leopards and hyenas as the day cools. The drive continues into the evening before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park – Morning Boat Ride – Return to Kampala or Entebbe

The second day starts with an early breakfast followed by a scenic boat ride on Lake Mburo. The cruise offers close-range viewing of hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of water birds along the lake shores. This calm and leisurely activity provides a contrast to the previous day’s game drive and excellent opportunities for photography.

After the boat ride, you return to the lodge for lunch and check-out. You then begin the drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way and arriving in the afternoon, marking the end of the safari.
