Detailed Itinerary: 11 Days Uganda Safari Experience
Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe or Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
The safari begins with an early morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala toward northwestern Uganda. After a short briefing by your professional safari guide, you drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for guided rhino tracking on foot, offering Uganda’s only opportunity to see rhinos in the wild.
Following lunch, the journey continues to Murchison Falls National Park, where you visit the top of the falls to witness the Nile River forcing its way through a narrow gorge. You then transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Accommodation options include Red Chilli Rest Camp or Parkside Safari Lodge for budget travelers, Murchison River Lodge or Pakuba Safari Lodge for mid-range comfort, and Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile Safari Lodge for luxury stays.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Safari in Murchison Falls National Park
This day is dedicated to exploring Uganda’s largest national park. After an early breakfast, you set out for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, where sightings may include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, lions, hyenas, and occasionally leopards.
After lunch at the lodge, you enjoy an afternoon boat safari on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife are commonly seen. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge.
Day 3: Additional Exploration of Murchison Falls National Park
A second full day in Murchison Falls allows for a deeper wildlife experience at a relaxed pace. You begin with another early morning game drive, exploring different sectors of the park and increasing your chances of predator encounters.
The afternoon is reserved for relaxation at the lodge or optional nature walks within the lodge surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay are at the same lodge in Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 4: Transfer from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you depart Murchison Falls and travel southwest to Kibale Forest National Park. The scenic drive passes through rural villages, rolling countryside, tea plantations, and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.
You arrive in the Kibale area in the late afternoon, check in at your lodge, and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation options include Chimpanzee Forest Guest House for budget travelers, Kibale Forest Camp for mid-range comfort, and Primate Lodge Kibale for luxury accommodation.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Experience
This day focuses on primate encounters in Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of the world. After an early breakfast, you attend a briefing before entering the forest with ranger guides to track chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, you visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided community and swamp walk, offering opportunities to spot monkeys, birds, and learn about local conservation initiatives. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge in Kibale.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Following breakfast, you transfer from Kibale Forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey offers stunning views of crater lakes and open savannah plains as you approach one of Uganda’s most wildlife-rich parks.
Upon arrival, you check in at your lodge, enjoy lunch, and spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay are at Bush Lodge for budget travelers, Twin Lakes Safari Lodge for mid-range stays, or Mweya Safari Lodge for luxury comfort.
Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 10: Transfer from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you travel to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic and peaceful destinations. The drive passes through terraced hills and traditional villages.
Upon arrival, you enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon engaging in optional activities such as canoeing, swimming, or a guided village walk. Dinner and overnight stay are at a lakeside lodge overlooking the lake.
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Return to Entebbe or Kampala
On the final day, you depart Lake Bunyonyi and travel to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival, you enjoy a guided nature walk, offering close encounters with zebras, impalas, giraffes, and other plains game.
After the walk, you begin your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala, stopping at the Equator for lunch and photography. The safari concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport.
