Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit: Tanzania’s northern safari circuit offers some of the world’s best and most diverse safari experiences on the entire African continent. This safari circuit is famously known for being home to several exciting safari destinations, including Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Mkomazi National Park, and the Olduvai Gorge.
This 7-day Northern Tanzania Safari takes you to Northern Tanzania for an epic wildlife encounter like no other.
On this Safari, you will have the opportunity to view the Big 5 animals, including elephants, zebras, and buffalo. With luck on our side, you have the opportunity to see the famous, unique tree-climbing lions.
This 7-day Northern Tanzania Safari is an all-inclusive Safari that starts and ends in Arusha at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Day 01: Arrival in Arusha and transfer to Tarangire National Park:
On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, you will meet a safari guide from Katland Safaris at Kilimanjaro airport for a briefing about your 10-day best of Tanzania wildlife Safari.
You will transfer to Tarangire National Park for an overnight stay at the planned lodge:
Day 02: Tarangire National Park wildlife Safari | Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will be picked up from Arusha and embark on a scenic transfer to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park, you will first check in to the lodge for quick relaxation and refreshment. After, you will transfer for a full day of game viewing in the park. Tarangire National Park, known for its gigantic baobab trees, the Tarangire River, Bird species, and a large population of elephants with an estimated number of about 2500 individuals, makes Tarangire National Park one of the best Safari destinations in Tanzania and East Africa.
Day 03: Scenic Drive from Tarangire to Serengeti National Park.
Wake up for an early morning game drive, and after the drive to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park is the smallest park in Tanzania, but with a great opportunity for viewing wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, bushbucks, among other great and amazing wildlife species.
While on the game drive through Lake Manyara National Park, you take drives through bush tracks and explore the lake famously known for being a safe home to thousands of flamingos. The Highlight of the safaris is encountering elephant families drinking and playing in the craters.
Late in the afternoon, decide to take an optional short hike down the Great Rift Valley and visit a local community to experience Tanzanian Swahili traditional culture. While on this evening hike, you will have the chance to enjoy the sounds of the forest and the beautiful waterfalls that can be found on the trail.
You will later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight
DAY 04: Serengeti National Park Wildlife Adventure
Today you spend the whole day in Serengeti National game, you will have a morning game drive, have lunch in the wild, go for an evening game drive, and return to the Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 05: Scenic transfer from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Wake up early morning for breakfast and then head out for a sunrise game drive in Northern Serengeti, and then embark on a journey to the famous Ngorongoro Crater rim
En route to Ngorongoro, make a stop and visit the Retima hippo pool for amazing views of hippos and other wildlife. You also have the opportunity to visit the Olduvai Gorge, an area with many incredible archaeological discoveries. This is a very beautiful area with lush grassy land dominated by the Tanzania Acacia trees sweeping majestically across the landscape. You can also choose to visit the Masia Mara village and learn about the nomadic culture and enchanting singing and dancing.
Transfer to the lodge for a relaxation dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 06: Ngorongoro Crater Rim Wildlife Adventure
Wake up early morning for breakfast and descend two meters into the crater to view great wildlife.
DAY 07: Transfer from Ngorongoro back to Arusha
Wake up for breakfast and embark on the journey back to Arusha, marking the end of your 7-day northern Tanzania Safari circuit
