Gorilla filming using gorilla habituation permits.

Filming gorillas is one of the priciest hobbies. It is possible to film mountain gorillas in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Using gorilla habituation licenses for gorilla filming could turn out to be the most sensible approach to maximize the amount of money paid.

Katland Safaris is happy to provide the necessary licenses, gorilla permits, and other requirements for filming gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Volcanoes National Park, or Virunga National Park.

Gorilla habituation licenses are used for gorilla filming.

Currently, the only country where gorilla filming with gorilla habituation licenses is permitted is Uganda. A novel experience known as “gorilla habituation” allows visitors or tourists to spend four hours with mountain gorillas. The Uganda Wildlife Authority must be consulted in order to shoot gorillas, and a USD 4050 charge is often required in order to get a filming contract from them.

Also, in order to spend an hour with mountain gorillas, each member of the film team must get a gorilla permit. The benefit of using gorilla habituation permits, however, is that you may stay four hours with the mountain gorillas, giving you enough time for shooting. The standard gorilla permit costs USD 800 per person, however gorilla habituation licenses are USD 1500.00 per person.

On average, nevertheless, spending time and hours with the gorillas during gorilla habituation is somewhat less costly. The sole distinction is that, whereas gorilla trekking licenses enable you to film fully acclimated mountain gorilla families, gorilla filmmaking with permits for gorilla habituation will only expose you to semi-habituated mountain gorillas who are still undergoing habituation.
