If you currently have chimpanzee permits booked, you must formally notify the executive director of the Uganda Wildlife Authority of your wish to purchase more licenses by a certain date in a letter. Please provide the specific date that these additional permits are needed and the rationale for your request in your letter.
Please ensure that you attach the receipt for any permits that you have already purchased. This will serve as verification that you do, in fact, have permits on this day, but would want to add additional. The decision to grant or deny your request will be made by the executive director upon receipt of this letter. Following the approval of your request, you will be able to proceed with the payment and qualify for these permissions.
For what reasons do businesses want more licenses?
One of the main reasons why tour companies or groups of tourists may ask for more chimpanzee permits to go on a hike in Kyambura Gorge or Kibale National Park, even when they know that day is already filled. Like gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits are often reserved in advance to ensure availability; as a result, there is often little room to add to the list of permits that have already been sold.
However, there are instances when the number of individuals scheduled to go chimpanzee trekking exceeds the number of chimpanzee permits that may be issued. If chimpanzee permits are still available at UWA, you may purchase them when the need arises. However, if they are all sold out, you can always write to the executive director to ask for more.
How likely is it that your request will be approved?
Since the Uganda Wildlife Authority would prefer not to encourage this, the likelihood of your request for further chimpanzee licenses being approved is half. More permits imply more people on the expedition, which means the executive director will have to be merciful if you want to visit a certain chimpanzee group or celebration.
Businesses may circumvent this by purchasing additional permissions, for instance, for large group bookings. Doing so will remove any justification for requesting more chimpanzee permits. If your organization doesn’t have many confirmed attendees, you may easily move part of the permits to a different day.
How many more permits am I eligible for?
We must emphasize that the Uganda Wildlife Authority has not promised to grant you any further chimpanzee licenses; even if they do, they may only grant you one or two more than what you have requested. Permits to See Chimpanzees in Uganda
A permission is required for anybody wishing to go chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. The Uganda Wildlife Authority provides the necessary permits for chimpanzee viewing in Kibale National Park and Kyambura Gorge, which must be scheduled in advance. Please let us know the precise days you plan to visit Uganda in order to get your chimpanzee permit.
After that, we’ll see what’s available and get back to you. At this point, we will reserve the permits and give you an invoice if you book them with Katland Safaris. You may book permits for up to 7 working days via the Uganda Wildlife Authority system, which is accessible to all registered travel companies.
