Along the way, you stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, where you encounter Uganda’s only wild rhinos in a protected natural environment.
After lunch en route, the journey continues to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you visit the top of Murchison Falls to witness the Nile River forcefully squeezing through a narrow gorge before plunging into the Devil’s Cauldron. You then proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 2: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari in Murchison Falls National Park
This day is dedicated to exploring Uganda’s largest national park through classic game viewing and a scenic boat safari. An early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile offers opportunities to see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, lions, and hyenas in open savannah landscapes.
After returning to the lodge for lunch, you enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. The cruise brings you close to hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a rich variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight are spent at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park
The journey continues southwest toward the primate-rich forests of western Uganda. After breakfast, you depart Murchison Falls and travel through scenic countryside, traditional villages, and tea plantations as you approach Fort Portal and Kibale Forest National Park.
Arrival is in the late afternoon, followed by lodge check-in, dinner, and overnight stay. Accommodation options include Chimpanzee Forest Guest House for budget travelers, Kibale Forest Camp for mid-range stays, and Primate Lodge Kibale for luxury accommodation.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest and Bigodi Community Experience
This day focuses on one of Uganda’s most exciting primate encounters, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. After an early breakfast, you attend a briefing at the park headquarters before entering the forest with experienced guides to track chimpanzees and observe their complex social behavior.
After lunch, you visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided community walk, offering sightings of monkeys, birds, and insight into local conservation efforts. Dinner and overnight are spent at the lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
The safari transitions from forest ecosystems to open savannah plains and crater lakes. After breakfast, you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying panoramic views of crater lakes along the way. Upon arrival, you check in at your lodge and have lunch.
In the afternoon, you take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is renowned for dense populations of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and prolific birdlife. Dinner and overnight are at Bush Lodge for budget travelers, Twin Lakes Safari Lodge for mid-range stays, or Mweya Safari Lodge for luxury accommodation.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
The day starts with a rewarding morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, known for excellent predator sightings. You search for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kob in the open grasslands before returning to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. If conditions allow, a brief game drive in Ishasha is included before continuing to Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay at Broadbill Forest Camp for budget travelers or Chameleon Hill Lodge and similar lodges for luxury comfort.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This is the most anticipated day of the safari, featuring an unforgettable encounter with mountain gorillas. After an early breakfast, you attend a briefing at the park headquarters and then enter the dense forest with rangers and trackers to locate a habituated gorilla family.
Once found, you spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat. After the trek, you return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Bunyonyi
The journey continues to one of Uganda’s most scenic and tranquil destinations. After breakfast, you drive to Lake Bunyonyi, known for its terraced hills and numerous islands. Arrival is followed by lunch and leisure time.
