Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari Overview
This 8-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari will take you to the western region of the country, home to a variety of wildlife and stunning scenery. It starts and concludes in Entebbe or Kampala, Uganda. The primary locations on this safari are Lake Mburo National Park, which has an area of 371 square kilometers and is home to many zebras as well as antelopes, warthogs, buffaloes, oribis, and other wildlife that may be seen around the lake’s banks, including hippos, crocodiles, and birds (the park has over 332 bird species). Mountain gorillas, of which there are over 340 in this park, live there, along with over 120 mammal species, 400 plant species, 346 bird species, 202 butterfly species, and many others.
Also to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is well-known for its variety of wildlife species such as chimpanzees, antelopes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, crocodile-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, and buffaloes. Over 600 bird species are also present, many of which can be viewed on boat cruises, nature walks, and game drives. 13 species of primate, including chimpanzees, white and black colobus, olive monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and vervet monkeys, as well as 300 different bird species, may be found in Kibale National Park. Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park-Wildlife viewing
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a gorilla safari

Day 4: Travel to Queen Elizabeth via the Ishasha sector
Day 5: Game drive & a boat cruise- Kazinga Channel

Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park – Wildlife Viewing
At 7:00 am, our driver/guide will pick you up in Kampala and transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park in the west of the country, stopping along the way to take pictures at the Equator and the Mpambire drum-making area. After eating lunch at the lodge when you arrive in the park, go on a game drive through it to see various species, such as the zebras that are virtually ubiquitous there. Head to the lodge for dinner later in the evening and stay the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park For a Gorilla Safari
At 6:30 am on this day, after eating breakfast, set out towards the Southwestern portion of Bwindi Forest, passing via Mbarara Town, which is blessed with stunning scenery. You’ll also witness several rolling hills with terraces; it’s a wonderful drive with all these sights. When you go to the park, check in at the lodge of your choice and then unwind there the rest of the evening while preparing for the activity next door. Eat there and stay the night.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Community Walk – Bwindi Forest
At 6:30 am, eat breakfast and then go to the park headquarters with a packed lunch to receive a briefing from the trained park rangers. The park rangers will accompany you as you enter the mist forest to trek mountain gorillas at 8:00 am. If you are not physically healthy enough, you could require a walking stick. You should also think about paying porters a small fee to carry your stuff just in case. The trek may last between two and eight hours, but just one hour is allotted for you to see and interact with the gorillas.
After your hike, head back to the resort to relax. Later that night, go for a walk in a different village, such as the Batwa community, where you can connect with the locals and learn a lot from them before retiring to the lodge.

Day 4: Travel to Queen Elizabeth Via the Ishasha Sector
Enjoy your breakfast before traveling to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha region, which is home to lions that can scale trees. The park is home to many different wildlife species, including lions, elephants, buffalo, and waterbucks. After arriving, eat lunch at the lodge, then go on a late-afternoon game drive to observe the animals and birds mentioned above, among many others. After dinner, spend the night.

Enganzi Game Lodge
Destination: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 5: Game Drive & Boat Cruise – Kazinga Channel
You will need to get up really early today since you will have breakfast at 6:00 am and then start your game drive right away if you want to view the early risers like lions, lone buffalo, kobs, elephants, etc. Since you can easily get a close-up view of these animals, it is a wonderful and thrilling moment. After lunch, return to the lodge to prepare for the afternoon boat tour on the Kazinga channel, which is home to many different types of animals and birds, including crocodiles, elephants, hippos, and many more. In essence, cruising on the Kazinga is one of the park’s most striking pastimes. After dinner, spend the night at the lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, and after transfer to the chimpanzee home, Kibale Forest National Park. Arrive later in the day, have dinner, and stay the night.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
Have breakfast early enough, then depart the resort for the park headquarters with enough bottled water so you can get an overview of the chimpanzee trekking experience. Following a briefing, set off on a guided hike through the forest at roughly 8:00 a.m. with an armed park ranger. Nothing compares to spending time with chimpanzees in their natural environment. Other primates, such as golden monkeys, grey-cheeked Mangabeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and bush infants, will also be visible; Many birds will also be visible.
After your climb, head back to the resort for lunch before taking a stroll through the Bigodi wetland in the late afternoon. Along with meeting diverse residents, you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife, including the Great Blue Turaco, bush pigs, otters, and baboons, among other primates.
Day 8: Return to Kampala
Immediately after a hearty breakfast, depart the park and travel via Mubende to Kampala, where you will be able to see the region’s stunning natural scenery. You can still eat lunch in Mubende before continuing to Kampala. Your driver-guide will either drop you off at your Kampala lodging facility or drive you to Entebbe Airport in case you need to catch a flight home.
