Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge Buhoma Region.
North of the world-famous forest is the Buhoma region of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you’ll find Bwindi Lodge. This five-star hotel offers breathtaking views of the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, making it an ideal choice for a forest vacation.
You can hear the birdsong and see monkeys and other wildlife hiding in the Bwindi forest from the lodge’s breathtaking vistas. One good incentive to take a trip is to see the woodland in the morning mist. There are four lodges in the Volcanoes Lodges chain: Bwindi, Kyambura Gorge, Gahinga, and Virunga. Guests at the Bwindi Lodge may take use of a number of amenities, such as the following: nine bandas (one of which is deluxe), a personal butler service, Wi-Fi in the main lodge building, charging stations in each banda, a drink menu, and the Humula Forest Spa, which has a sauna.
Pricing and Rooms
Each room is in its own charming cottage; each has its own private bathroom and toilet; each has a verandah and glass windows so you can see the forest and take great photographs; and each room is comfortable and inviting. Stay in either the Deluxe Banda or the basic Banda, and the lodge’s high-quality service will fulfill your expectations and provide good value.
The accommodation rates change according on the time of year you go and the Banda you book. In 2021, during the peak months of December, January, February, June, July, August, and September, the rate card ranges from 800 USD per person per night for a standard banda to 1040 USD per person per night for a deluxe banda. Daily full board meals are included in the accommodation prices.
Things to do while staying at Bwindi Lodge
Gorilla trekking begins at Buhoma Park headquarters, which is conveniently adjacent to Bwindi Lodge. One of the most well-known things to do in Buhoma is gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest, which is considered an experience of a lifetime. Tourists take part in guided forest walks in search of the gorillas; they get one hour to observe, photograph, and learn about the animals from the guides.
Bird watching
The Buhoma area is a great place to go bird watching since the woodland is a haven for more than 350 different kinds of birds. We will devote the whole day to birdwatching in Mubwindi marsh, the ideal spot for birding in Bwindi forest. The most ideal spot to see some of the most elusive rift endemics—such as the stunning Regal Sunbird, the rare and endangered Archer’s Robin-Chat—is along the 4-kilometer walk leading to Mubwindi Swamp.
Hikes in the great outdoors
The Uganda Wildlife Authority has set up nature walk pathways in the Buhoma sector and Bwindi Forest so that tourists may go on guided hikes. Depending on the visitor’s schedule, guided walks may begin at any time; participants will have the opportunity to see a variety of tree types, bird species native to the forest, and even traverse streams and marshes.
Cultural immersion and community involvement
Bwindi Forest was formerly home to the Batwa Pygmies, therefore it would be a shame for safarigoers to miss out on the opportunity to meet locals and learn about their culture. To protect the apes and monkeys that are in risk of extinction, it was decided that they should be relocated.
