Booking Chimp permits. One must have a chimpanzee permit or chimp permission to walk with habituated chimpanzees in Uganda or Rwanda, much as with gorilla trekking in either country. Kibale National Park, Chambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Karinzu Ecotourism site, and Budongo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park all include habituated chimpanzees.
Chimpanzees may be seen in Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda.
Booking 2026–2027 chimpanzee permits
Although you are purchasing 2026-2027 chimp permits for Uganda or Rwanda, we advise you to get in touch with Katland Safaris or another tour operator who will arrange this for you at no additional cost as long as you plan a whole trip with us.
While booking chimp permits, UWA needs to be contacted by tour companies or individuals, as all habituated chimps inthe National Parks of Uganda are under the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
In Rwanda, you interact with the Development Board of that country. For Foreign Non-residents, Kibale chimp permits in Uganda cost USD200. We shall discuss discounts for citizens as well as East African residents in our other piece.
Booking Chimp permits you to call Katland Safaris know the year, month, and exact day of trekking. Our team will then advise based on the availability of chimp permits at your chosen National Park.
We will book these permits on your behalf when we have agreed on the terms of payment. UWA offers two daily trekking sessions. After we have secured your chimp permit, you will be free to either hike with chimpanzees in the morning or in the afternoon.
Booking Chimp permits in Uganda, most specifically for Kibale National Park, will let you experience a primate walk in a National Park recognized as the finest woodland to witness habituated chimpanzees and other 11 primates.
