This all-inclusive trip starts and ends in either Kampala or Entebbe. You will be flown across Uganda by Domestic flight across the green landscape of southwestern Uganda to a luxury forest lodge on the edges of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You’ll spend three nights in a forest cottage with excellent Views of the famous Virunga Volcanoes, the rugged Rift Valley, and the steamy forest canopy.

You’ll encounter mountain gorillas in their natural environment deep in this Bwindi Forest. You can also explore the rugged rural region on foot, with immersive walks through communities and terraced gardens. Engage with the Batwa native community on a forest trail, showcasing their ancient cultures, drama, hunting, and survival skills when they occupied the gorilla-filled jungles.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrival at Entebbe International Airport / Shoe Bill stock Tour in Mabamba Wetland

Upon Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet with a safari guide representative from Katland Safaris for your Pick from the airport and transfer to your Hotel In either Kampala or Entebbe.

There are various optional activities around Entebbe to engage your travel lust if you arrive early in the day. Many birders visit Mabamba swamps to catch sight of the monstrous historical shoebill and hundreds of other rare African endemics.

You may prefer a walk to the local market or fish market to find out a little bit about Uganda’s urban culture and later transfer back to the Hotel for relaxation Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 2: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred by your safari Guide to Entebbe International Airport, or at Kajjansi airstrip to catch an early morning domestic flight to Kisoro to kick off your short gorilla safari in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The one-hour flight goes over Lake Victoria, beautiful central plains, into the rolling hills of the southwest region with cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest, bamboo forest, and the majestic chain of the Virunga Volcanoes. Our driver will pick you up from Kisoro Airstrip and transfer you to the lodge.

Batwa Community Experience

In the afternoon, you can walk the Batwa Forest Trail in Buniga Forest, a pocked forest close to the lodge. The Batwa people showcase their ancient cultural tales, hunting, and survival skills on the trail. Alternatively, from Kisoro Airport, join our walking safari guide in Kisoro Town for a community walk, canoeing excursion on Lake Mutanda, and nature hikes through communities & cultivated garden trails.

It is an immersive off-the-beaten-track walking adventure connecting you with the local people and environments. The walking safari takes about 4-5 hours to Lake Mutanda, where the driver will pick you up for lunch before continuing to your night’s stay at the lavish Nkuringo Lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You will wake up very early in the morning for breakfast and a hot cup of coffee. After, you will meet with your Guide and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national Game Park. Upon arrival at the headquarters, you will have a briefing from the Uganda wildlife rangers about the gorilla trekking Guidelines.

With the leadership of your ranger guides and in the company of six other tourists, you will embark on the Gorilla trekking journey into the thick Bwindi impenetrable forest in search of the mountain gorillas. The search for mountain gorillas usually starts from the very last place where the gorillas were last seen the previous evening.

Once you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed to observe them for an hour at a 10-meter distance for a full hour taking pictures and videos in total silence.

You will transfer back to the lodge for Relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 4: Fly back to Entebbe or Kajansi.

After breakfast, lazily get your bags early in the morning and take another rural drive down the volcanic mountains to the lower Kisoro Airstrip for your local scheduled flight to Entebbe International Airport for your international flight back home.

Depending on the time of arrival, we can arrange day accommodation for relaxation and freshening up as you wait for your international flight back home.
