Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
The safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, heading southwest through central Uganda’s countryside. The drive passes traditional homesteads, long-horned Ankole cattle farms, and open farmlands, with a stop at the Equator for photography and a short break.
Upon arrival at Lake Mburo National Park, you check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch overlooking the surrounding savannah. In the afternoon, you head out for a game drive through acacia woodland and open plains. This drive offers excellent opportunities to see zebras, impalas, topi, eland, buffalo, and giraffes, with possible sightings of leopards and hyenas as the day cools. You return to the lodge in the early evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park – Morning Walking Safari – Return to Kampala or Entebbe
The second day starts with a guided walking safari, one of Lake Mburo National Park’s signature activities. Accompanied by an armed ranger guide, you explore the park on foot, learning about animal tracks, vegetation, and birdlife while walking among zebras, impalas, warthogs, and giraffes in their natural habitat.
After the walking safari, you return to the lodge for breakfast before beginning the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. The scenic drive through rolling hills and rural landscapes concludes in the afternoon, marking the end of a short but rewarding Lake Mburo safari experience.
