Detailed Itinerary: 1 Day trip CTC

Early Morning: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

The day begins with an early morning departure from Fort Portal, nearby lodges, or surrounding areas, heading toward Kibale Forest National Park. The drive passes through lush countryside, tea plantations, and crater lake landscapes. A light breakfast or packed breakfast is arranged depending on departure point to ensure adequate preparation for the forest trek.

Morning: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience

Upon arrival at the park headquarters, a comprehensive briefing is conducted by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The briefing covers tracking rules, safety guidelines, and conservation principles before groups are assigned to experienced guides. The chimpanzee tracking activity involves walking through dense forest in search of habituated chimpanzee communities. Once located, visitors spend up to one hour observing the chimpanzees as they feed, socialize, vocalize, and move through the canopy. The experience is both educational and deeply engaging.

Lunch: Post-Tracking Meal

Lunch is arranged after the chimpanzee tracking activity, either at a nearby lodge or restaurant in the Kibale area. Meals typically include freshly prepared local and continental dishes, allowing time to relax and reflect on the forest experience.

Afternoon: Departure and Return

After lunch, the return journey begins to Fort Portal or the original departure point. The afternoon drive provides time to enjoy the scenic landscapes and conclude the safari at a relaxed pace. Depending on timing, a short stop at a crater lake viewpoint or local community area may be included.
