The Uganda Tourism Board reminds all people and guests that Uganda does not have a history of the Zika virus infection, contrary to claims made in foreign media. Any kind of visitor will find Uganda to be safe.

The Ministry of Health claims that the virus now spreading across 21 nations in the Americas since May 2015 is a distinct species from the one originally known from Uganda. This was under a yellow fever scientific study project.
