3 Days Gorilla Habituation Safari in Bwindi

Our Gorilla Habituation Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to spend more time with the endangered mountain gorillas. On this trip, you will have a chance to spend 4 hours with the mountain gorillas while participating in the process of getting them used to human presence. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas in their natural habitat it is approximately 459 gorilla individuals in Bwindi and your visit to this park gives you 99% of seeing the mountain gorillas.

On the first day of your Gorilla Habituation Safari in Bwindi, the driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe or Entebbe Airport and start the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, this drive is long but worth it. You will enjoy amazing scenery and meet up with the local communities. Depending on your request and time, you will have a stop at the Equator for photographs, lunch en route, and other optional multiple stops.

On the second day of your Gorilla Habituation Safari in Bwindi, you will have breakfast, and after drive to the park headquarters for briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides who will allocate you a gorilla family group you will trek that day. In a group of 4 tourists, researchers, and ranger guides you will set off into the thick impenetrable forest to start your search for the endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas.

On your 3 days Gorilla Habituation Safari in Bwindi, the gorilla search will start from the place where the gorillas were last seen the previous day. Upon reaching the area where these famous species are, you will only be allowed to interact with them for four hours and you should always keep maximum silence while with these Gorillas. You are allowed to take photographs and so on. In the evening, you may go for community walks in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience and Community Visit

After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides who will allocate you a gorilla family group you will trek that day. In a group of 4 tourists, researchers, and ranger guides you will set off into the thick impenetrable forest to start your search for the endangered rare species of Mountain Gorillas. The gorilla search continues from where they were last seen the previous day. Upon reaching the area where these famous species are, you will only be allowed to interact with them for four hours and you should always keep maximum silence while with these Gorillas. You are allowed to take photographs and so on. In the evening, you may go for community walks in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture.

Gorilla habituation involves hiking/walking through Bwindi Forest in search of the mountain gorillas, this can sometimes be strenuous depending on the trek that day which is normally determined by weather and the movement of the gorillas in the forest but given the fact, it is a very well organized activity you have 99% chances of seeing the gorillas on your trek. The trek is guided by advanced trackers who monitor the mountain gorilla movements all day in the forest with this they will know where they nested for the last night and that’s where you start looking for them. The 2 ranger guides will lead you all through the trek clearing trails, creating new trails, and sharing with you information about the mountain gorillas and Bwindi forest. After the trek, you will return to the starting point to pick up your certificates as a sign of successful tracking of mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe to end your 3 Day Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Trip.

After early morning breakfast, you will start your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe with stopovers for photography in some of the areas with tourist attractions, you will arrive in Kampala/Entebbe in the late afternoon, and you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight or to the airport for your departure.
