New Gorilla Families in Bwindi
The Rushija side of the forest is home to the Rukara and Mukinga gorilla families, which are two more recent additions to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Ruhija is situated in the Bwindi Forest’s eastern region. Following its dissolution, Kyaguriro gave rise to the gorilla families mentioned above; it is now no longer in existence.
Prior to being accessible for gorilla monitoring, the Kyaguriro gorilla troop was employed for study. Later family disputes led to the division of the Rukara and Mukinga into two groups, which are currently walked by tourists. This indicates that Nshongi and Kyaguriro are extinct and need to be forgotten in the annals of mountain gorilla communities.
Uganda is now among the greatest places in the world to follow the critically endangered mountain gorillas, thanks to the establishment of new gorilla families in Bwindi and the consequent rise in the number of gorilla licenses offered by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
